Our favorite beer seasons are upon us!  Fall and Winter usher forth some of the best artisanal beers from around the world.  We find great comfort in an alcoholic beverage that showcases rich fall flavors like clove, pine, pumpkin, allspice, brandied cherries, vanilla custard and dark chocolate.

We've heard many a rumor about the burgeoning craft beer revolution in Italy, but we Beer Chicks don't believe it until we've tasted it. So up went the wheels in LA and down we touched in Rome. There's really only one word to describe it, and that word is 'Wow.'  Besides the amazing architecture and the 2765 years of rich history and art, Rome has an exploding craft beer scene!

We were lucky enough to be asked back to Latitude 33 lofts to do a little pre-St. Patty's day beer tasting, where we'll be drinking some fun and delicious Irish and Irish inspired beers!  So come on by for a wee-bit of beer and taste some luck of the Irish.  And don't worry, we Beer Chicks haven't sold out!  You won't be drinking any green-dyed fizzy yellow water!  Irish style craft beer is sophisticated, layered, rich, well-balanced and delicious!

If you plan to be authentic this St. Patty's day and embed yourself within the Irish culture, you will need to prepare yourself for multiple pints, order up a Boxty and some Soda Bread, and have a basic understanding of Irish pub slang.   Believe us, you don't want to misinterpret a real Irish bartender when he tells you, "You'll find the bog up the apples and pears." (Translation: The toilet is upstairs!)

We Beer Chicks will be doing a Beer Pairing Dinner and Beer 101 Class at Library Alehouse next week on Tuesday, August 31st.   The 7-course dining event, which will take place in the back garden patio, will benefit breast cancer research through the charity organization  What a Pair.

It's finally here - American Craft Beer Week (insert choir of angels.) So gather all ye beer lovers as May 17-23 is the time for the "Mother of All Beer Weeks!"  Celebrating small and independent craft brewers, and highlighting all that America loves about craft beer, this week is now "a cherished tradition...a great chance to toast craft brewers and to celebrate the advanced beer culture here in the United States," says Julia Herz of the Brewer's Association.

There are many choices in the Big Apple when it comes to craft beer bars.  We feel pleasantly overwhelmed when heading out to drink our way around New York.  Amongst these choices is a jewel of a gem in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn called Beer Table.  As the name suggests, the setting is modest; three long communal tables, classic brick walls and some beer.  The lighting is warm, the space tiny, and the design sparse and cozy.  The beer list, however, is anything but simple.
